Outreach

Outreach

The Outreach of this church starts within the four walls of the building with food and clothing drives. Items are given from the heart to such organizations as Hope House, reStart, Harvesters and the Community Service League. When the call comes, Christ Church responds with gifts for others.

We have many community groups such as Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and Upward Basketball supported in our church. Church members reach out to touch the community in a variety of ways. We give with the gift of life during blood drives. Much needed financial assistance is collected during the Christmas season by ringing bells for the Salvation Army. We reach out to our neighbors by getting involved in our neighborhood schools and feeding the homeless around us. Each month we team up with Harvesters to feed approximately 250 families through a monthly food drop. Cooking meals for families at Ronald McDonald House is also a favorite for ministry of several of our Sunday School classes.

The giving hearts and souls at Christ Church don't stay in its four walls or in just the community; they also reach out to a world in need. We touch the world through sponsorship of water wells in Africa and support of Methodist run hospitals and schools in developing countries. Each year mission groups of youth and adults go out and leave their mark of love and kindness in areas of the world that need help.

We are called by God to give ourselves in service to others. Here at Christ United Methodist Church there are a wide variety of opportunities for people to choose how they want to follow Christ's example of serving.
